This is the third compilation showcasing Cold Meat Industry acts, but differs from the previous compilations in that the focus has shifted away from CMI staples in favour of new projects. This move makes sense; even relatively new inductees into the realm of apocalyptic folk or dark ambient will be familiar with Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio or Raison d'Être respectively, and there is no need to introduce them to an audience or to promote their work through a sampler! Veteran representation is limited to Coph Nia, who have been around since 1990 and at a push, Beyond Sensory Experience, who have released four full-lengths and before that mastermind Drakhon was involved in cult "black industrial" band MZ.412, which can trace its origins back to the Eighties. But younger acts, both in name and age of members, such as Decadence or Rome, with only a couple of albums under their belt, could potentially benefit from the extra exposure.
But the million dollar question is whether this is worth receiving in return for your hard-earned cash. The answer is "yes", and this is one of the few compilations I can recommend without qualification, due to the proliferation of little known quality acts. Those who are familiar with the genres mentioned earlier may delight in discovering new artists (yours truly will now be on the lookout for works by Hrafn and Golgatha) and _All My Dead Friends_ should be the first stop for those who are not.
