Wasting little time in following up on the well received re-release of their _Bleed the Dream_ opus, Las Vegas' own unleash their fifth full-length in just over a decade, and unfortunately at first the record bears all the hallmarks of being a gross disappointment. Where its predecessor launched its thunderous assault from the get-go, _No Time for Sorrow_ takes a while to find its mojo, thanks to some particularly bum notes scattered across "World of the Transparent" and "Red Sky Revolution". Indeed, a good ten minutes elapses before Hemlock are able to truly find their pace and demonstrate why they should have a significantly higher profile than they currently enjoy. At their finest, "Backstabber" and "The Reason" are thoroughly bruising exercises in hulking, testosterone-addled metalcore, and not the sort that would appeal to the Avenged Sevenfold crowd either. Some may label them a one-trick pony. Personally, I find their single-minded onslaught thoroughly invigorating.
