Flagellation - _Incinerate Disintegrate_
(Last Entertainment, 2007)
by: Pedro Azevedo (6.5 out of 10)
Nice and pacey, the first track proper on _Incinerate Disintegrate_ seems to hold some promise of an entertaining listen. Even though the rasped vocals turn out to be a bit too loud in the mix, Flagellation still tear through four full tracks of their keyboard-enhanced hybrid extreme metal style with relative aplomb. Somewhat black metal lite speed-ups help keep the songs busy by alternating with the beefier riffs and solos, and sometimes the result is quite worthwhile. On the whole, Flagellation boast good technical skill and a solid production allied to plenty of energy, but there is still not a lot to remember them by -- an issue the band will need to address in the future in order to gain wider recognition. _Incinerate Disintegrate_ is a decent disc, a short and to-the-point collection of material that does more to showcase the band's potential than to set them apart from the masses. One to look out for in the future.
