Qrujhuk - _Triumph of the Glorious Blasphemy_
(Nerbilous / Kerzakraum, 2006)

The purpose behind side projects is normally to allow an artist to pursue a style not possible or desirable within the framework of their main band. And this is what makes the existence of Qrujhuk all the more puzzling.

As far as I can tell, Qrujhuk is the project of one Helnakstav, who released an album earlier in 2006 under the name of Infinite Hatred, albeit recorded much earlier. The main difference between the bands appears to be the name, as Qrujhuk is identical in virtually all other respects to Infinite Hatred, yet appears to have been intended as a totally separate project.

The same production, the same cavernous riffs -- actually, just read the Infinite Hatred review for a full description! Two differences are noticeable. One is the inclusion of a bass which is hopelessly out of tune. It shouldn't work, yet somehow it does, adding to the grimness quotient. The second is that the songs are slightly stronger -- not by much, but enough to ensure that Qrujhuk is the photo-finish winner between the two bands.
