Shrine - _Somnia_
(Cyclic Law, 2012)
by: Chaim Drishner (2 out of 10)
Shrine, a one-man Bulgarian dark ambient project, has nothing to offer even in the low standards of your habitual dark ambient outputs of recent years. Random sounds, loops of synth chords, chiming wind bells and a plethora of emptiness and sonic desolation too abstract to absorb, too empty to enjoy and too disjointed to be referred to as music, is what's being offered on _Somnia_. It might serve as a tool, or an engine, to reach low level lucid dreaming, as the info sheet suggests, but as a musical product, as an artifact of sonic art, it has nothing to offer even for the most avid dark ambient fans out there. An hour long of wasted plastic and a waste of time.
