What need I say? Carpathian Forest were never part of the elite epicentre of Norwegian black metal, but their import to the scene cannot be denied. This was recorded in 2004, so no songs from the inferior _Fuck You All!_. Most live CDs are dominated by songs from the band's last album, but only a handful of songs are taken from the then current _Defending the Throne of Evil_, and a strong cross-selection of songs from earlier classics are included. The set-list is excellent, and although fans may grumble about why x was chosen over y, I cannot find any serious fault with it. For some obscure reason, this is the re-release of the of the similarly named DVD on CD, when the reissue of the DVD proper, if sold out, would have seemed like the obvious choice. For those whose interest in Carpathian Forest is beyond the fleeting, the purchase of this is, in managerial cliché-speak, a "no-brainer"; but if you already have the DVD, do not bother.
