The Moon and the Nightspirit - _Rego Rejtem_
(Equilibrium Music, 2007)
by: Quentin Kalis (9 out of 10)
The sophomore effort of the Hungarian duo of Agnes and Milhaly taps deep into the atavistic well of Hungary's forgotten Pagan past; a return to a time when polytheism ruled supreme, when it was possible to believe that there was more to the world than that which could be perceived by the senses or known through the exercise of reason. Their recidivist approach is enhanced by the beautiful heathen / fantasy artwork of Agnes, which adorns the cover and booklet. Said approach is achieved through a variety of instruments in addition to acoustic guitar and Agnes' beautiful vocals, including tapan, kaval, Jew's harp and violin.

Unlike their debut, _Of Dreams Forgotten and Fables Untold_, the lyrics are sung entirely in Hungarian -- the only 'flaw' of any significance. The title translates roughly as "I Conjure With Magic". Their conjuring up something, that's for sure. Right now I've fallen absolutely in love with this enchanting duo, and they are a welcome and bewitching entrant to the neofolk pantheon.
