G.F.P.M. - _Are You Ready for Popo Love?_
(Independent, 2006)
by: Quentin Kalis (7 out of 10)
The evidence for the prosecution is compelling: G.F.P.M. describe themselves ambiguously as "natural porn grinder"; they perform nine grindcore songs in twenty minutes, and they include explicit pictures of intimate pink parts prominently displayed in the CD booklet and inlay. The non-musical evidence suggests a run-of-the-mill grindcore act, perhaps in the vein of Gorgasm or maybe a Cliteater.

But the case for the defence is far stronger, as the music is actually pretty good. G.F.P.M. don't just blast away needlessly; this is not to say that they ever slow down, but there is a variety and consistency to their simplistic songs that I didn't expect to find. It appears that they have their tongue firmly in their cheek at least some of the time, although it should be noted that this observation is arrived at in the absence of any lyric sheet -- and the vox are true to tradition, unintelligible.

Also included is a cover of Ween's "Spinal Meningitis", albeit in an unrecognisable format.

To conclude, this is not too shabby and is superior to many signed grind acts.
