Burialmound - _Devil's Work_
(Sound Riot, 2006)
by: Nikola Shahpazov (4 out of 10)
I'm not saying everyone has to be dead serious, but what do you make of an album with track names such as "At Golgotha I Masturbate", "From Promised Land (Reeks Shit)" and "Funeral Night and the Immortal Evil"? Certainly this adolescent love for just about everything naughty and diabolical could be anything but promising to start with. The music is a bit more bearable than the teen revolt lyrics, but has in fact very little to offer, being utterly devoid of any distinguishable characteristic. _Devil's Work_ fits every death/black metal cliché, presenting nine tracks of the heavy, aggressive but occasionally melodic hybrid that seems to be the favourite of about nine thousand bands out there. The CD also includes Burialmound's _Black Death_ album, which is, quite surprisingly, more of the same. Instantly forgettable music.
