Klimt 1918 - _Just in Case We'll Never Meet Again_
by: Pedro Azevedo (
Think Katatonia and Novembre are too heavy, or at least that you could
do with a less metallic alternative to both? Try Klimt 1918's _Just in
Case We'll Never Meet Again_. Otherwise, you should stay clear of this
record, as it borders well enough on pop music to drive most metal
fans away screaming. Klimt 1918 are all soft emotional music, and
generally quite suitable for mainstream media. That isn't to say the
album is without merits however, as shown early on during the second
half crescendo of opener "The Breathtaking Days". On the other hand,
the start of second track "Skygazer" reminds me of mobile phone
commercials for some reason, but that of "Interlude in the Sky"
restores some measure of interest. The vocals are excessively
saccharine, and while the instrumental side has its merits, the
overall result is unlikely to capture the attention of those who
routinely pass on commercial mainstream music.
